My wife and I have been married since 1988. We have lived in the Town of Delafield since 1998. When our oldest child was going to start going to school, we chose to move to the Kettle Moraine (KM) School District. We felt that KM was the best choice for our growing family. It provided great teachers, small class sizes, and we liked the house system at the middle school.

All four of our children received excellent educations at KM. They also participated in extracurricular activities. All four went on to obtain college degrees and two have advanced degrees.

In 2002, I was approached by a former KM school board president and several citizens about running for the KM school board. I had served on the Waukesha Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, chaired the Christian Education Committee, and the Youth Ministry Team at the church to which I belonged. My wife and I were also serving as Sunday school teachers. Two of the people who asked me to run were Waukesha County Circuit Court Judges whom I appeared before and felt that I would make a good addition to the KM board.

I am a trial attorney and litigator. As an attorney, I am trained to gather information, analyze it, consider alternatives, and create solutions that solve issues and problems. As a trial attorney, I am required to be well-prepared before trial and think quickly and logically during trials. These are skills that I bring to the KM School Board.

I have served on the KM School Board from 2003-2006 and 2008 to the present. During my time on the board, I have served as President and Vice President. I have also served on the Transformation Task Force, Strategic Planning Committee, Policy Committee, Finance Committee, Curriculum Committee, and Property Committee.

I have always listened to students, parents, taxpayers, teachers, paraeducators, administrators, and staff. I am NOT a politician. I am a parent and taxpayer. I am dedicated to academic excellence and financial responsibility.

Community Endorsements

Carl Millard

"It is a joy to serve alongside Board Member Jay Crouse on the KM School Board. Jay has been a strong supporter of our 5 year curriculum review cycle and keeping political ideology out of our classrooms. His 21 years of service on the board provides helpful context when crafting policy. KM cannot afford to lose his depth of experience. I highly encourage everyone to vote on or before April 7th for Jay Crouse."

Carl Millard, President
Kettle Moraine School Board

"I am a retired public school teacher with 32 years in public school and a number of years in university education. I earned teacher of the year in that past life. I have been volunteering at KMHS for about 10 years in the Art Suite.

This email is to endorse you for the next term on the school board and thank you for your years of dedication, honesty, perseverance and care for students in the district with a careful eye out for our community needs."

"I am happy to endorse Jay Crouse for re-election to the Kettle Moraine School Board. Jay understands the value that excellent schools bring to our KM Community. He has been an integral leader in the development of our programs and opportunities. Jay understands the financial and legal constraints of the education environment. He has more experience than the rest of the Board combined."

"Re-Elect Jay Crouse to the Kettle Moraine School Board.

Jay is by far the longest serving member of the KM Board having served most of the years of the 21st century in various roles including vice president and president.

No other current board member or candidate has the historical and institutional knowledge about KM school district finances, operations, administration and staffing that comes close to what Jay possesses.

KM was Jay’s choice for the K-12 education of his four children.

Jay has always been committed to KM academic excellence, efficient operations, safety, responsible physical asset maintenance and cost-effective employee salary and benefits.

Jay is sensitive to concerns of KM property taxpayers who provide the majority of the school district funding.

Vote for the clear choice Jay Crouse in the April 7th, 2026 election."
